Arts District Liberty Station, in collaboration with Dinah Poellnitz and The Hill Street Country Club, proudly debuted “Interlaced,” a solo exhibition by San Diego artist Christian Garcia-Olivo, in Gallery 201. The exhibition is on display through January 10, 2025, exploring the complexities of identity, culture, and existence through Garcia-Olivo’s unique sculptural paint skins, which combine elements of Mexican textiles and smooth candy paint to challenge conventional perceptions.
Christian’s work, influenced by his experiences as a queer Chicano artist, addresses cultural hybridity and the strength found in vulnerability. The opening reception was a vibrant event, and the exhibition is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to engage with Christian’s art and participate in a virtual artist talk to delve into the themes of identity and transformation.
Don’t miss the chance to immerse yourself in this captivating artistic exploration!
