Founded in 1999 by Sean Jamieson, The Gondola Company offers unique gondola cruises inspired by Venice, providing guests with relaxation and elegance as they glide through the serene canals. While aboard one of the various cruises, guests can indulge in fine wines, beverages, and chocolate truffles as they explore Coronado from a unique vantage point. As they commemorate 25 years, The Gondola Company invites everyone to enjoy an unforgettable journey of romance and relaxation.
Here is what Sean Jamieson shared with us:
“25 years ago, I was living in Long Beach, CA. I had some friends traveling to Venice to compete in a rowing regatta, and they invited me to come along. It was those experiences, year after year—eating lots of pasta, drinking lots of wine, and just loving boats—that made me think Coronado Cays would be a perfect place for gondolas.
We offer a really unique experience in all of San Diego. We’re the only spot where you can just sit on a boat by yourself and have somebody else do the work. Just relax. There’s nobody else around; there’s Italian music playing. It’s really like a mini vacation.
You can take the gondola cruise by itself and just sit back and relax. We also have a variety of wines and non-alcoholic beverages. Additionally, we offer the option to have chocolate truffles from a local chocolatier .
We even have musicians who come along and play live music.
A lot of what people really like about The Gondola Company is that you’re by yourself, and you get to do something right in your hometown that feels like you’re thousands of miles away. You sit back as the sun goes down, the water gets calm; it’s just the perfect romantic setting.
The cruise is 50 minutes long. We offer gondola cruises from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM on weekdays and from 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM on weekends.”
