Get ready – the Emilio Nares Foundation’s (ENF) most anticipated foodie fundraiser is just around the corner! The Emilio Nares Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting families throughout San Diego County as they navigate their child’s journey through cancer, is excited to invite the public to the 21st Annual Harvest for Hope event. Mark your calendars for Sunday, September 22nd, at 2 p.m., and join us at Coasterra for an unforgettable afternoon in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Since 2003, ENF has been dedicated to improving healthcare access for underserved communities in Southern California through its Comprehensive Care Initiatives. A cornerstone of their work is the bilingual family resource center, which helps families navigate the healthcare system and access essential resources such as food, housing, legal aid, and mental health services. Beyond this, ENF supports over 11,000 families with additional programs like transportation for immunocompromised children and nutritional support, continuing their mission through events like Harvest for Hope.
This year’s event promises an exceptional culinary experience, with over 25 local businesses showcasing the best of San Diego’s vibrant food scene, along with flavors from Baja California. Savor dishes from the newest restaurant concept by Chef Drew Deckman from 31ThirtyOne, alongside favorites from San Diego staples like Hash House A Go Go, Oliver & Rose, and Lazy Acres. Expand your palate with global flavors, from authentic Asian cuisine at Glass Box to modern New Mexican bites at Wolf in the Woods, and classic Italian flavors at Solare Ristorante, Bencotto, and Monello.
Attendees can also support the cause by participating in their silent auction or purchasing “His Place At The Table: A Personal, Public, and Spiritual Love Story,” the debut memoir by ENF co-founder Diane Nares, where 100% of the proceeds go towards the efforts of ENF. As the highlight of the night, the team will hold a special “Ring the Bell” ceremony to celebrate a child’s completion of their cancer treatment, showcasing the profound impact of the organization.
