At Gente Bonita Magazine, we are committed to recognizing people and organizations who lead with generosity and purpose—those who give their time, talents, and hearts to uplift others. One such organization is The Country Friends, a philanthropic force rooted in Rancho Santa Fe, dedicated to helping those who need it most in San Diego County.
For over 70 years, The Country Friends has supported nonprofits that serve children, seniors, people with disabilities, and underserved communities. As longtime member Yvette Letourneau shares, the organization reviews grant applications throughout the year, carefully selecting which causes to support based on need and impact.
“We receive dozens of requests from nonprofits doing meaningful work across the region,” Yvette explains. “It’s a responsibility we don’t take lightly—because San Diego needs us, and we’re here for the community.”
Their commitment is consistent, and deeply effective.
The highlight of their year is The Art of Fashion, a signature fundraising event returning this September 11 to the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe, in partnership with South Coast Plaza. The event features a stunning runway show, a curated live auction, and an elegant luncheon—all with the mission of raising vital funds for local causes.
Among the generous members of The Country Friends is Anahi Arata, whose contributions are focused on securing exclusive auction items—from luxury experiences to one-of-a-kind pieces—that help maximize fundraising efforts.
“What moves me most is knowing that even a small gesture can change someone’s reality” shares Anahi.
In a region as diverse and dynamic as San Diego, the needs are real and growing. But thanks to the unwavering work of The Country Friends, help is always just around the corner—delivered with elegance, heart, and an unshakable belief in community. Special thanks to Yvette Letourneau and Anahi Arata for generously sharing their time, voices, and hearts with Gente Bonita Magazine. Your dedication inspires us all.
